Color us all BLUE!!! And in true Oregon style, let's get some beer to celebrate.

I'm not usually patriotic but YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! I feel like hugging all those crazy people cheering on the tv who are just as thrilled as I am that Obama will be our new President!! It would've been funny to see some more Palin sketches on SNL, but holy cow, I would've totally cried if McCain actually won.

The only other thing that I liked about Palin is that she wears glasses. How come all these politicians, who are clearly presbyopes, don't ever wear glasses? They can't all be wearing CLs or have had Lasik.

In anticipation of a long but celebratory night ahead of us (we thought we'd be staying up late to watch the election coverage and I have my presentation to work on too), J and I grabbed some beer at the grocery store earlier this evening. There seems to be more breweries and pubs here than there are coffeehouses, so we had to get into the Oregon spirit and sample their drink of choice.

On tap tonight at Casa Optos is Rogue Brewery's Santa's Private Reserve Label Ale. As you know, J and I are connoisseurs of beer. Our verdict: "very bitter" (me) and "tastes like all the other beers" (J). Also: that logo also seems a little bit blasphemous to me. I mean, kids can see it and it'll ruin their image of Santa as a jolly old guy that smells like peppermint.
